MESHmachine ranks among the most popular addons in the superhive library, earning its place with a deep set of hard surface tools for editing bevels, chamfers and custom normals without subdivision surfaces.
MESHmachine is a mesh modeling addon for Blender built for hard surface work without subdivision surfaces. It fuses and unfuses surfaces, turns chamfers into fillets or bevels and back, changes the width of a chamfer or bevel, and creates variable fillets and washouts. Unchamfer and unbevel return an edge to a hard state, while its tools edit existing bevels and resolve overlaps where two bevels meet.
Detailing runs through plugs, which plug details into a mesh; you can build your own and create plug libraries. Stashes keep earlier mesh states or face selections as backups that other tools can reference, and they feed normal transfers. MESHmachine also flattens and straightens normals, symmetrizes meshes including their custom normals, and cleans up applied booleans with perimeter loops around intersections.
Version 0.20.1 works with Blender 4.2 to 5.1. A demo video is available, and it ranks among the most popular addons on superhive.
Meshmachine is best for hard surface modeling in Blender without subdivision surfaces: editing bevels and chamfers, creating fillets and washouts, and detailing meshes with plugs.
Meshmachine is completely free to download and use.
MESHmachine version 0.20.1 works with Blender 4.2 through 5.1, so any release within that range is covered. If you run a Blender version outside that window, check the developer's page for older builds or newer updates. MESHmachine focuses on hard surface mesh modeling without subdivision surfaces, so keeping it aligned with a supported Blender release helps its bevel, chamfer and normal tools behave as intended. Confirm the current version on the developer's documentation before installing.
MESHmachine is listed as free here, and it's distributed under the GPL license. Licensing terms can change, so check the developer's page for the current arrangement before you rely on it for commercial work. The GPL license governs how the addon's code can be used and shared. For the most accurate and up-to-date details on pricing and licensing, the developer's own page is the place to look.
MESHmachine lets you plug details into a mesh using plugs, and you can build your own rather than relying only on included ones. It also supports creating plug libraries, so custom detail sets can be organized and reused. Plugs work alongside the addon's custom-normal tools, which is part of how MESHmachine details surfaces. For specifics on building and managing plug libraries, the developer's documentation covers the workflow.
MESHmachine can turn chamfers into fillets or bevels and back again, and it can change the width of a chamfer or bevel. Beyond that, it creates variable fillets and washouts, and its unchamfer and unbevel tools return an edge to a hard state. It can also edit existing bevels and resolve tricky geometry overlaps where two bevels meet. These bevel and chamfer tools are central to its hard surface workflow without subdivision surfaces.
