Mike Udin Custom Buttons earns its place in the toolfarm library for turning repetitive Cinema 4D routines into one-click buttons and shortcuts backed by Python scripts.
Mike Udin Custom Buttons is a Cinema 4D plugin for building custom buttons and shortcuts driven by Python scripts. Each button can carry a specific action, and you can combine many repetitive operations so they run in a single click. One button can hold as many presets as you like, and presets can be assigned to custom objects, tags, materials and layers.
The plugin covers a wide range of preset types. Save tool settings, object and tag presets, layer and material presets, and render settings, render effects and multipass presets. You can also edit Cinema 4D preferences without opening dialog windows, save project settings as presets, and adjust viewport settings before saving them as a preset. Button icons can be made from any loaded image, Cinema 4D functions or even a rendering scene. Favorite materials can be applied to objects from the toolbar or a shortcut in one click.
An online user manual is available, along with a demo video. The current release, version 1.1.4, adds Cinema 4D R25 compatibility.
Mike Udin Custom Buttons is best for cinema 4D users who want to save repetitive operations, presets and settings to reusable buttons or shortcuts.
Mike Udin Custom Buttons is completely free to download and use.
Mike Udin Custom Buttons lists compatibility with Cinema 4D 2023, S26, R25, S24, R23, S22, R21, R20, R19, R18, R17 and R16, so it covers the 2023 line along with a long range of earlier releases. The plugin reaches back to R16 on the older end. If you run a version inside that list, it is within the supported range; for anything newer than 2023 or not listed, check the developer's page before installing.
Mike Udin Custom Buttons includes both R18 and R19 in its supported versions, which span R16 up to Cinema 4D 2023. Version 1.1.4 added R25 compatibility, and an earlier update, 1.1.3, fixed an issue where the plugin was not working on R19. If you run R18, R19 or another release from the list, it should be covered; for versions outside that range, confirm on the developer's page first.
Mike Udin Custom Buttons reached version 1.1.4 with the addition of Cinema 4D R25 compatibility. The prior update, 1.1.3, fixed an issue where the plugin was not working on R19. These are the entries in the recent changelog available here. Alongside R25 support, the plugin lists compatibility spanning R16 through Cinema 4D 2023. For details on other changes or the newest release, the developer's page and the online user manual are the best places to check.
Mike Udin Custom Buttons is listed here as free. Licensing can change over time, so check the developer's page for current terms before downloading. An online user manual and a demo video are available if you want more information about the plugin. The catalog does not carry pricing beyond the free listing, so the developer's page is the authoritative source for any licensing questions.
