Stellart is upfront that the demo clips aren't edited to look better than the real output, so what you see is the actual result with its strengths and current limitations. A cheaper Mocap Lite version keeps the core capture, webcam facial capture and retargeting but drops the Auto-Rigger, FBX/GLTF export and utility tools.
Mocap Pro is a motion capture and retargeting add-on for Blender from Stellart, working from any video or image source. It captures body, facial and finger motion and transfers it to any rigged character, and also supports webcam live facial motion capture. The workflow is short: install the add-on's data, pick your source video or image, adjust a few settings if needed, then click the Motion Capture button.
A built-in Auto-Rigger, based on Stellart's BlenQuick Auto-Rigger, prepares characters beforehand using a non-destructive rig that stays editable at any time. Finished animation can be exported to FBX or GLTF for game engines. An assets management system handles saving, loading and managing assets, and an Add & Apply keyframes feature applies the current pose until the action ends.
Mocap Pro runs on Windows and Linux and is compatible with recent Blender versions. Stellart notes the demo clips aren't edited to flatter the output, so they show the real result with its current strengths and limitations. Updates are provided free.
Mocap Pro is best for blender artists capturing body, facial and finger motion from video or images and retargeting it onto rigged characters.
Mocap Pro is completely free to download and use.
Mocap Pro splits Blender compatibility across versions: v1.2.8 works with Blender 4.5.x and 5.0.0, while v1.3.0 adds Blender 5.1.0 on Windows. The developer notes that capture quality and accuracy are the same across 4.5.x, 5.0.0 and 5.1.0, but it runs a bit slower on 5.1.0 because of the external python modules required for compatibility with that version. If speed matters most to you, sticking with v1.2.8 on Blender 5.0.0 is the recommended route.
Mocap Pro is compatible with both Linux and Windows. On the Linux version you may see a small error message mentioning "self" after installing the data, which is a Blender bug rather than an add-on fault and has no effect, so it's safe to disregard. On Windows, if the add-on throws errors the first time you open it, installing the latest Microsoft VC_redist runtime resolves them. Beyond those startup notes, the capture workflow is the same on both operating systems.
Mocap Pro follows a short workflow: install its data, select the source video or image, configure a few settings if needed, then click the Motion Capture button. From there it extracts body, facial and finger motion and lets you transfer it to a rigged character. A built-in Auto-Rigger, based on Stellart's BlenQuick Auto-Rigger, can rig characters beforehand using a non-destructive setup that stays editable at any time. Webcam live facial motion capture is also available.
Mocap Pro is listed as free in this catalog, and the developer states that updates are free and always will be. For current licensing terms, check the developer's page directly. If you want a lighter option, Stellart also offers Mocap Lite, which keeps the core motion capture, webcam live facial capture and retargeting features but drops the Auto-Rigger, the FBX/GLTF export and the utility tools.
Mocap Pro may throw errors the first time you open it on Windows. The developer explains that this means you need to install the latest Microsoft VC_redist runtime, after which the add-on should open correctly. On Linux, a separate harmless "self" message can appear after installing the data, which comes from Blender itself and can be ignored. Both are documented startup notes rather than faults in the capture tools themselves.
