MographAE, from developer Kai Henthorn-Iwane, is a toolkit for After Effects built to help create complex animations quickly. It ships with three cloners and five effectors that work together on layers.
The three cloners handle arrangement: Grid places layers into a grid, Array arranges them into a radial array, and Linear lines them up. Each has in-depth documentation on the developer's page.
The five effectors animate those layers. Field affects layer properties based on proximity, with fully custom remappable easing plus controls for randomness, delay, and field shape. Step influences properties by layer index for sequential animation. Inheritance morphs layer position and rotation between cloners for smooth transitions. Target repels layers and points them towards it, while Noise affects properties based on a random noise pattern. MographAE runs in After Effects 2022 through 2025.
