NX CRT is a CRT simulation tool for DaVinci Resolve, designed for professional colorists and editors. Rather than a static overlay, it simulates the analog signal chain, electron beam physics, and glass characteristics of vintage monitors, and stays resolution-independent from 720p to 8K using diagonal-based scaling.
The effect covers physically based barrel distortion with adjustable radius, rounded corners, and edge falloff, per-channel beam scanlines whose RGB width varies by brightness, and classic phosphor mask patterns including Trinitron, Shadow Mask, Slot Mask, and VGA. Phosphor bloom, red-shifted halation, chromatic aberration, and YUV-based composite chroma bleed round out the analog look, alongside signal artifacts such as rolling hum bars, a visible refresh scanline, static noise, and brightness flicker.
Glass surface controls add Fresnel edge glow, environment reflections, specular highlights, internal ghosting, and tint, while vignette and brightness compensation offset scanline and mask loss. Aspect ratio presets, independent X/Y overscan, and optional transparent edges outside the screen area support compositing. It works across the Edit, Fusion, and Color pages in DaVinci Resolve.
