Pigment is a color palette tool for After Effects, built by Filthy Baguette. It lets you create, use and customize color palettes, with a palette generator, a color harmony tool, and an eyedropper for picking colors. You can change individual colors, hold them in place with lockboxes, and save, load, import or export palettes.
Version 1.2.0 adds a gradient workflow through the Pigment Ramp effect, which builds linear or radial gradients of up to nine colors with nine built-in presets and customization. A web export menu copies palettes in RGB, HSL, HSV, HEX or CMYK, and display settings let you hide tools. The release also includes a colorblind preview shortcut, HSB sorting, and a reroll button that shows the current palette number after generation.
Earlier updates introduced Project Sync, which links a composition's assets to a palette for automatic updates, along with colorblindness support and state that persists across projects. Pigment supports After Effects 2026, 2025, 2024, 2023 and 2022. A demo video is available.
