pt_ExpressEdit 2 is a script for After Effects, created by Paul Tuersley, that finds and edits expressions throughout a project. It can also search 'all properties' to add expressions to properties that don't already have them.
Beyond basic searching, it works with expressions on hidden layer style properties and can search nested precomps. Sort options let you order results, including by layer number, and search settings are retained between launches.
Version 2.72 supports a broad range of releases, from After Effects CS4 through 2026. Its changelog includes fixes for time remap property searches, Master Properties, and a macOS smart-quotes problem that could break expressions, plus optimised sorting. The entry is listed as free in our catalogue, and a demo video is available.
