Randomatic 2 earns its place in the aescripts library for handling random and wiggle animation across 2D, 3D and color properties, with a compatibility list that stretches from CS6 to After Effects 2026. The 2.12 update addressed the Transfer function and updated the license framework.
Randomatic 2 is an After Effects script for building random and wiggle animations on 2D, 3D and color properties. It applies those variations to the same property types from within After Effects.
Version 2.12 refined how the script moves controllers between compositions: the Transfer function was fixed so it works correctly when a controller is sent outside its original composition. Earlier updates taught Randomatic effects to switch automatically to relative mode on Position properties, added handling for Time Remap properties with the Stretch function, and kept selected keyframes selected after a Stretch. The script also preserves keyframe color labels as it works.
Compatibility runs from CS6 through the 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 releases of After Effects, along with the CC and CS versions in between. Randomatic 2 is listed here as free; check the developer's page on aescripts for current licensing and activation details. A demo video is available.
Randomatic 2 is best for after Effects users who need random or wiggle animation applied to 2D, 3D and color properties.
Randomatic 2 is completely free to download and use.
Randomatic 2 lists compatibility with After Effects 2026, along with the 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021 and 2020 releases. Support reaches further back through CC 2019, CC 2018, CC 2017, CC 2015.3, CC 2015, CC 2014, CC and CS6, so the script covers a wide span of After Effects versions. If you run a build outside that list, check the developer's page on aescripts for the current compatibility details before installing.
Randomatic 2 is listed as free here in the catalog. Licensing terms can change over time, and the plugin uses an activation framework that was updated to version 4.4.2 in the 2.12 release, with online and local activation options. For the current licensing details and any activation requirements, check the developer's page on aescripts before you download. That page carries the authoritative terms.
Randomatic 2 includes a Transfer function for moving a controller outside of its original composition. The 2.12 release fixed cases where this transfer did not always work correctly across compositions, so the current build handles that scenario more reliably. Randomatic 2 also carries a Stretch function that works with keyframes, and selected keyframes stay selected after you use it. Both are part of how the script manages the random and wiggle setups it applies.
Randomatic 2 switches its effects automatically to relative mode when they are applied to Position properties, a behaviour added in the 2.11 release. Beyond Position, the script targets 2D, 3D and color properties for its random and wiggle animations. Earlier fixes also addressed Time Remap properties working with the Stretch function, and the script preserves keyframe color labels when it operates. Check the developer's page for the full range of properties Randomatic 2 supports.
