Sheffield Softworks Makeup Artist is a beauty and retouching toolkit that works in Final Cut Pro X, Motion, After Effects, Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, on both Apple Silicon and Intel processors. It centers on two plug-ins: Smooth Skin and Cover Up.
Smooth Skin handles retouching and beauty work, either smoothing skin or removing features such as blemishes and replacing them with the surrounding area through an adjustable diffusion algorithm. It uses a chroma keying algorithm to limit processing to selectable skin tones, which you can sample with an eye dropper or set through onscreen controls, and a limit mask can confine the effect to a specific area. A separate Smooth Skin Express keeps a simplified control scheme, generating a mask from standard skin tones with adjustable density and falloff, plus a Cutout Mask to block smoothing on areas like hair, lips or background.
