Sound React Addon covers a wide range of Blender versions, from 2.8 through 3.5, and pairs preset-based reactions with custom data path control for both newcomers and users familiar with sound frequencies.
Sound React Addon connects an audio file to any animatable property in Blender, so scale, location, rotation or a custom data path can react to sound. You can set one object to respond to bass while another responds to the highs, or drive a property from a single frequency you choose.
The addon includes Basic and Advanced tabs. The Basic tab is aimed at users who don't know sound frequencies and want fast results, while the Advanced tab lets you make an object react to one specific frequency. Frequency presets cover Bass, Kicks, Mild, High, Treble and Full, with Data Path options for Scale or a custom path you copy from a property. A Max Size control scales the object up or down, and an Add Sound option adds sound in the background.
Version 1.2 adds reacting on an active keyframe: add a keyframe on any property, set it as the first or selected item in the Fcurve modifier, change Data Path to Active Keyframe, and click React. Documentation is included, and a demo video is available.
Sound React Addon is best for blender users animating properties in response to audio, from simple preset-driven reactions to single-frequency setups on custom data paths.
Sound React Addon is completely free to download and use.
Sound React Addon lists support for a broad range of Blender releases, including 3.5, 3.4, 3.3, 3.2, 3.1 and 3.0, as well as 2.93, 2.92, 2.91, 2.9, 2.83, 2.82, 2.81 and 2.8. This spread covers both current 3.x builds and several older 2.8-era versions, so it fits into projects across many Blender installations. Check the developer's page to confirm the exact version details before installing.
Sound React Addon works with any animatable property whose data path is accessible. You can pick the Scale option directly, or use Custom by right-clicking a property in Blender, choosing copy data path, and pasting it into the custom data path field on the Sound React panel. From there you assign a frequency preset or, in the Advanced tab, target a single frequency. A Max Size control scales the object up or down.
Sound React Addon version 1.2 lets you react on an active keyframe. Add a keyframe on an object for any property, making sure it is the first or selected item in the Fcurve modifier. Then open the panel, change Data Path to Active Keyframe, and click React. The addon adds sound reaction to that keyframe you placed on the object, extending the reaction beyond the Scale and custom data path options.
Sound React Addon is listed as free in this catalog. It is distributed under the GPL license. For current licensing terms, pricing and any coupons, check the developer's page directly, since the details shown there are the authoritative source. Documentation is included with the addon and a demo video is available if you want to see how it is set up before you install it.
