Textor is a script for After Effects that drives text animation through sliders, so you adjust values directly rather than setting and editing keyframes. Once an animation looks right, you can save it and apply it to any text layer, and the results appear instantly as you work.
The sliders reach across text transformations, effects and behavior. A one-click random animation generator produces random text animations for the properties you select, and a dedicated presets tab lets you save, remove, rename, export and import your animations. Textor is also size independent: it applies animation presets while accounting for composition size and text scale.
Developed by Marco Sanasi, Textor runs across a long span of After Effects releases, from CS6 through the 2026 version. It sits in the aescripts library and is listed here as free. Version 1.2.2 arrived on April 17, 2024, and a demo video is available if you want to see the interface before installing.
