Twitch earns its place in the toolfarm library for automating random, synchronized effects across six operators, letting you keyframe multiple operators from a single master control.
Video Copilot Twitch is an After Effects plug-in that synchronizes random operators to create pulsing, stylistic video effects for motion graphics and visual effects. At its core, a twitch is a random value at a random point in time; combined with multiple operators, those twitches drive unique custom effects. You can make twitches fast or slow and adjust the ease-in and ease-out timing.
The plug-in includes six built-in operators with unlimited uses: Blur, Color, Light, Scale, Slide and Time. Each operator has an on/off switch for toggling individual effects, plus individual controls over Speed, Amount and an optional random seed value. A master Amount and Speed slider lets you keyframe multiple operators from a single parameter.
Twitch ships with 25 effects presets, 7 video tutorials and 10 free Twitch sound effects. It is compatible with a wide range of After Effects versions, though M-series Mac users should note it is only supported with the Rosetta version, and AE 2024 no longer supports Rosetta mode.

That matters because After Effects 2024 no longer supports Rosetta mode, so on an M-series machine you must use an After Effects version earlier than 2024 to run the plug-in. If you rely on newer releases, check the developer's page for current compatibility before installing.
Video Copilot Twitch supports After Effects 7, CS3, CS4, CS5, CS5.5, CS6 and CC, including 2022 and later. Note that Multi-Frame Rendering is not supported in CC 2022, and M-series Mac users are limited to the Rosetta version, which means running an After Effects release prior to 2024 since 2024 dropped Rosetta support. Because that compatibility spans many releases, confirm your specific After Effects version on the developer's page before installing to avoid the Rosetta or MFR limitations.
Video Copilot Twitch does not support Multi-Frame Rendering (MFR) in After Effects CC 2022. If your pipeline depends on MFR in that release, factor this in before setting up renders with the plug-in. Twitch does support a broad range of other After Effects versions, spanning AE 7, CS3 through CS6, and CC including 2022 and later.
