Stands out in the Blender extensions library, where it ranks fifth, for gathering analysis, editing, and export utilities for 3D printing into a single add-on.
3D Print Toolbox is a Blender add-on from MikhailRachinskiy that collects utilities for preparing meshes for 3D printing. Its Analyze tools calculate mesh volume and surface area, check for bad geometry, and fix it with Make Manifold.
On the editing side, the Hollow tool creates consistent thickness for complex shapes, and models can be rotated by aligning selected faces to the print bed. Scaling tools fit a model to specific boundaries or volume. When the mesh is ready, selections export quickly to STL, PLY, and OBJ formats.
The add-on builds on work by original author Campbell Barton and ships with translations in English, Chinese (Simplified), Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, French, and Spanish. It ranks fifth in the Blender extensions library and is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later.
3D Print Toolbox is best for blender users preparing meshes for 3D printing — analyzing geometry, hollowing and scaling models, and exporting to STL, PLY, or OBJ.
3D Print Toolbox is completely free to download and use.
3D Print Toolbox is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer, so recent Blender releases are covered. The version listed here is 1.3.5, whose most recent change fixed an Analyze error that occurred when an object was hidden. If you're running a Blender version older than 4.2, it falls outside the stated compatibility range, so check the developer's page on projects.blender.org before installing to confirm your setup is supported.
3D Print Toolbox exports a selection to STL, PLY, and OBJ formats through its Export tools, and it requests file permissions specifically to write those formats. It does not implement other exporters such as 3MF; for that, the developer points users to a separate 3MF exporter extension. The export step is meant for sending a finished mesh out after it has been analyzed and edited within the add-on.
3D Print Toolbox is listed as free in this catalog and is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. That license covers how you can use, modify, and redistribute the add-on. For current licensing terms and any conditions, check the developer's page on projects.blender.org, which hosts the extension and its issue tracker where you can also report problems.
3D Print Toolbox can be added by dragging and dropping it into Blender, or by downloading the add-on and installing it from disk. Once enabled, its utilities for analysis, editing, and export become available for preparing meshes for 3D printing. Full installation guidance for Blender extensions is available in the official Blender manual, which is linked from the developer's page on projects.blender.org, alongside the extension's issue tracker for reporting problems.
