SimpleBake earns its place in the Superhive library as one of the most popular Blender baking tools, offering PBR and specialist map baking from a single panel without special nodes or a new workflow.
Blender's node-based material system handles complex, layered PBR materials, but getting those textures out has traditionally meant careful manual node setup, UV management, and patience — with quiet errors when something is slightly off. SimpleBake handles that side of the process: select your objects, choose your maps, and click Bake, with no special node groups to add and no new workflow to learn.
It works with whatever you've already built, regardless of material complexity. SimpleBake covers PBR baking, all traditional Cycles bake modes, specialist maps such as AO, Curvature, Thickness, Vertex Colours, Colour ID and Lightmap, node baking, background baking, high-to-low poly workflows, UDIM tiles, channel packing, image sequences, post-processing, and direct export to external files — all from a single panel.
Non-PBR shaders are automatically converted before baking, and the tool can auto-detect the maps present in your materials to skip unnecessary bakes. A demo video is available.
Simplebake - Simple Pbr And Other Baking In Blender is best for blender artists baking PBR and specialist texture maps, running high-to-low poly workflows, or channel-packing maps for game engine conventions like ORM.
Simplebake - Simple Pbr And Other Baking In Blender is completely free to download and use.
SimpleBake works with your existing materials and needs no special node groups added to them. The workflow is select your objects, choose your maps, and click Bake, with no new system to learn and no limit on material complexity. It handles multiple materials per object, multiple Principled BSDF nodes, and Mix Shaders without modifying your setup. Non-PBR shaders such as Diffuse, Glass, Glossy, Emission, Subsurface, Refraction and Transparent are automatically converted before baking, so whatever you've already built can be baked as it is.
SimpleBake supports PBR maps including Diffuse, Metalness, Roughness, Glossiness, Normal in both OpenGL and DirectX, Transmission and Transmission Roughness, Clearcoat variants, Emission, Emission Strength, Specular, Alpha, Bump, Displacement, and SSS with its scale and colour. It also covers all traditional Cycles bake modes and specialist maps such as AO, Curvature, Thickness, Vertex Colours, Colour ID and Lightmap. Baked maps can be combined into the R, G, B and A channels of a single packed texture, with as many packed textures per bake as you need.
SimpleBake supports baking from one or more source objects onto a single target, with configurable ray distance, cage extrusion, and a cage object that can be custom or auto-generated as smooth or hard. It can auto-match high poly and low poly objects by the _high / _low name convention or by spatial proximity, available in both PBR and Cycles bake modes. Selected-to-active baking is supported in Cycles mode, and decal objects can be projected onto a target mesh and baked automatically.
SimpleBake is listed here as free in this catalog. For current licensing details and any terms that may apply, check the developer's page on Superhive, where it sits among the popular entries. Beyond pricing, SimpleBake runs from a single panel and covers PBR baking, all traditional Cycles bake modes, specialist maps, node baking, background baking, high-to-low poly workflows, UDIM tiles, channel packing, image sequences, post-processing, and direct export to external files. A demo video is also available.
