3DC Polish earns its place in the superhive library as a Blender-native take on ZBrush's Clay Polish, pairing one-click edge refinement with a deformation and displacement toolkit that respects MultiRes subdivisions.
3DC Polish is a mesh-sculpting assistant for Blender from 3DCEPTION, positioned as a close substitute for ZBrush's Clay Polish. Its core Edge Polish engine enhances edge definition, tightens creases, and smooths surfaces in a single click. Iterative refinement runs 1 to 10 passes to sharpen edges without destroying volume, a Preserve Details slider keeps fine surface detail while strengthening forms, and curvature detection handles convex and concave regions independently.
Beyond polishing, the add-on carries a deformation toolkit. Inflation applies positive or negative uniform expansion along local normals, and noise displacement offers four patterns: Perlin, Fractal, Voronoi, and custom image textures. Texture coordinates support UV or Box mapping with adjustable blend, a built-in image browser loads textures from the panel, and displacement can be smoothed afterward. A MultiRes-aware workflow preserves all subdivision levels.
A preset system stores up to 10 global presets that can be saved, loaded, overwritten, or deleted from the UI. The tools live in a sidebar panel in the 3D Viewport under the "3DC Polish" tab, split into Edge Polish and Deformation sections.
3Dc Polish - Claypolish is best for hard-surface modeling, sculpting organic forms, and preparing assets for rendering.
3Dc Polish - Claypolish is completely free to download and use.
3DC Polish requires Blender 4.3 or newer, and the changelog confirms compatibility with Blender 5.0. You access the tools from a sidebar panel in the 3D Viewport under the "3DC Polish" tab. The panel is organized into two expandable sections, Edge Polish and Deformation, and shows clear warnings when a UV map is missing or a MultiRes modifier is inactive. If you run a Blender version earlier than 4.3, the add-on will not be supported, so check your version before installing.
3DC Polish installs like any Blender add-on. Download the 3DC_Polish.zip file, then in Blender go to Edit, Preferences, Add-ons, Install, and select the zip. Enable "3DC Polish" in the add-ons list. Once active, open the 3D Viewport sidebar with the N key and find the tools under the "3DC Polish" tab. From there you can expand the Edge Polish and Deformation sections. The add-on requires Blender 4.3 or newer to run correctly.
3DC Polish includes a MultiRes-aware workflow that detects active MultiRes modifiers automatically. It duplicates the mesh, applies deformation to the high-resolution version, then reshapes back, preserving all subdivision levels so your low-poly cage stays intact. The add-on also stores a copy of the original mesh before any deformation as a deformation base, which lets you apply operations repeatedly without accumulating errors. The panel displays a warning when a MultiRes modifier is inactive.
3DC Polish is listed as free here in the catalog, and it is released under the GPL v3 license. For current licensing terms, check the developer's page from 3DCEPTION. The listing invites feedback, bug reports, and suggestions, and notes that updates are released as needed to improve stability and usability. The add-on also mentions that acquiring it contributes to the Blender Development Fund. Confirm any pricing details directly with the developer before downloading.
