AE Global Renamer is a bulk-renaming panel for After Effects from Lloyd Alvarez. It renames items across an entire project, including project panel item names, layer names, effect names, text in text layers, layer and comp markers, expressions, property names and their children (masks, puppet pins, shape layer properties), and render queue footage paths.
The panel supports unlimited search and replace pairs, adding prefixes and suffixes, and incremental numbering with a padding option. You can replace everything at once or one item at a time, rename only duplicates, and switch on regular expressions for pattern matching. Presets can be saved for reuse, and the UI is small and dockable anywhere. Special replace keywords insert values such as the layer name, layer index, layer comment, comp name, project name, the current date and time, and sequential padded numbers with a custom increment.
The tool has been completely rewritten with added functionality. It's compatible with After Effects from CC 2015 through 2025, and ranks 429 in the Toolfarm library.

Together these give you both plain text and pattern-based renaming.
