Kihoon is a Blender Development Fund contributor, and the add-on has moved through several updates since its first release.
Base Mesh Tools - S is a Blender add-on from Kihoon focused on generating base meshes for sculpting. It builds base meshes quickly and lets you transform them into various body shapes, giving sculptors a starting point to work from.
The add-on works through a Brush Mode alongside transform controls. Most of its features, including Brush Mode and Multiple Scale, only work on objects created with the add-on. It includes Rotate and Move, Multiple Object Transform, and options to add or cut mesh directly in Brush Mode. Additional tools cover Hierarchy Select, Constraint Axis, Set Cursor, Switch Objects in Brush Mode, Reset Profile, Symmetrize in Brush Mode, Set Parent, and Align.
A more recent update added a separate shortcut for smooth brush strength. Documentation is provided, and a demo video is available. The add-on is compatible with Blender 4.2 and 4.1 as a Blender Extension.
Base Mesh Tools - S is best for blender artists building base meshes as a starting point for sculpting.
Base Mesh Tools - S is completely free to download and use.
Base Mesh Tools - S is compatible with Blender 4.2 and 4.1. It is distributed as a Blender Extension and is an add-on type, so it installs within Blender as an extension. If you run one of these listed versions, the add-on's features should be available to you. For versions outside this range, check the developer's page for details on compatibility before installing.
Base Mesh Tools - S applies most of its features only to objects created with the add-on itself. Functions such as Brush Mode and Multiple Scale are limited to those add-on-generated objects. This means the workflow centers on meshes you create through the tool rather than arbitrary geometry already in your scene. Keep this in mind when planning a sculpt so you start from base meshes made with the add-on.
Base Mesh Tools - S is listed as free in this catalog. Licensing terms can change over time, so for the most current pricing and license information it is best to check the developer's page directly. The add-on is distributed under the GPL license. Reviewing the developer's page also lets you confirm the latest version and any updates before you download and install it.
Base Mesh Tools - S includes documentation to help you get started with its features. A demo video is also available for the add-on. Between the documentation and the demo, you can review how the various tools such as Brush Mode, transform controls, and the mesh options are set up. Refer to the developer's page for access to these resources alongside the download.
