Billed as the first churro generator addon for Blender, Blendurro stands out in the Superhive library for its narrow, single-purpose focus paired with two stylized shader sets.
Blendurro is a churro generator addon for Blender built on geometry nodes. With one button click, it converts any curve object into a churro mesh, and it exposes custom parameters for churro thickness, dough or sugar materials, and the number of ridges.
Depending on the variant you choose, Blendurro comes with two sets of shaders, each in a different stylized genre. It's available in a Lite edition that includes the churro generator, and a Full edition that adds the two shader sets used in the showcase images. The addon works on one churro at a time.
There are a couple of known behaviours worth noting: applying the geometry node modifier will ask for the curve to be converted to a mesh, which requires using vertices instead of curves and adding a Mesh To Curve node before the blendurroInternal node. Applying the modifier also doesn't add the sugar. The developer's documentation covers installation and further details.
Blendurro - Churro Generator Addon is best for blender artists creating stylized churro dessert assets with geometry nodes.
Blendurro - Churro Generator Addon is completely free to download and use.
Blendurro lists support for Blender versions 3.5, 3.6, and 4.0. If you're running one of these releases, the addon is compatible with your setup. For newer or older builds not on this list, check the developer's page and documentation for the latest compatibility details before installing, since the listed versions reflect what the addon was published against. Confirming the version match first can save time when you set up the addon in Blender.
Blendurro directs you to its documentation for installation instructions. The addon page notes that installation steps are covered there rather than inline, so the documentation is the place to follow the setup process. Consult the developer's page for the full walkthrough to make sure the addon is enabled correctly in your Blender version before you start generating churros. Keeping the documentation open as you install helps you match each step to your version of Blender.
Blendurro applies its effect through a geometry node modifier, and when you try to apply that modifier it will ask for the curve to be converted to a mesh. To work around this you would use vertices instead of curves, then add a Mesh To Curve node before the blendurroInternal node in the geometry nodes. Note that applying the modifier also doesn't add the sugar; the FAQ covers more on this behaviour.
Blendurro is listed as free in this catalog, and it comes in Lite and Full editions, with the Full edition adding the two shader sets used in the showcase images. The addon is described as royalty free. For current licensing terms and any details on the different editions, check the developer's page, since offerings can change over time. Reviewing the developer's page also clarifies what each edition includes before you download.
