Why we like it

Note that the sidebar controls always target the Body Top material; if you select another material such as Body Bottom or Label, re-select Body Top in the Shader Editor to restore the controls.

What is Cassette Customizer?

Cassette Customizer brings a ready-made cassette prop to Blender. A single "Add Cassette" operator imports the library's Cassette collection into your current scene with no manual linking. Once added, the Body Top object is selected automatically; its material carries a node group that drives every visual attribute.

Controls live in the 3D View N Panel under Cassette. From there you can pick one of five labels, adjust Base Color (RGB), Roughness, Transmission, a Middle Round shape-key toggle, and procedural edge wear via sliders. Spools and film can be animated with sliders and checkboxes, and a Randomize option shuffles color, finish, roundness and label together. All changes update immediately in both Eevee and Cycles.

Five decal designs are built in and shown as large thumbnails for quick swapping. A PSD source file for all five label graphics is included so you can design your own decals, export them as PNG, and swap the Image node inside the Label material. The asset is UV-unwrapped, rigged and animated, and the developer offers free updates.

Frequently asked questions

Does Cassette Customizer work in Eevee and Cycles?

Cassette Customizer updates live in both Eevee and Cycles, so all changes to color, finish, edge wear and labels appear immediately for accurate previews in either render engine. For better viewport performance, the developer suggests disabling the Subdivision Surface and Bevel modifiers in the viewport. The asset ships UV-unwrapped, rigged and animated, and its Body Top material carries a node group that drives every visual attribute you adjust from the sidebar.

How do I add custom labels in Cassette Customizer?

Cassette Customizer includes a PSD source file for all five built-in label graphics inside the Labels folder. To create your own decal, open that PSD, design your graphic, export it as a PNG, then swap the Image node inside the Cassette Label material. Five preset labels are included at present, and this PSD workflow lets you add and swap in additional designs beyond those presets whenever you need something different.

What Blender versions does Cassette Customizer support?

Cassette Customizer is listed for Blender versions 4.2 through 4.4. It works with the Blender-internal renderer as well as Cycles and Eevee, and the asset is provided UV-unwrapped, rigged and animated. Because controls depend on an intact node group with shape-key and driver setups, heavy re-routing of those internals may require manual adjustments, so keeping them intact is recommended for the sidebar controls to function as intended.

Is Cassette Customizer free to use?

Cassette Customizer is listed as free in this catalog, and it is distributed under a GPL license. The developer also states that all future improvements are included at no extra cost. For current licensing terms and any specific pricing details, check the developer's page directly, since availability and terms can change over time and are best confirmed at the source.
