Color Cone earns its place in the aescripts library for pairing color correction with look creation, backed by Color Warp technology and a 2.7.0 update that added LUT export and M1 support.
Color Cone from Picture Instruments is a concept for color correction and the creation of looks in After Effects and Premiere Pro. It uses Color Warp technology for smooth transitions and handles color grading for videos, alongside reconciling mixed white balance scenarios and restoring and adjusting skin tones. An Auto-Radius function is included.
The plugin opens within the host and can be added to a clip as an effect. All parameters can be animated via keyframes in After Effects, Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro X, just like native effects. Settings are saved within the project, and presets can be saved within the host.
Version 2.7.0, released November 2022, added cross-host presets, LUT export, a before/after comparison, a one-button reset, the option to close without applying, Retina scaling for Windows and M1 support.
