The Content Browser loads any folder accessible on your machine and finds materials, HDRIs, models and max files inside it. It groups matching files into assets and organizes them, automatically recognizing preview images, LODs, mapping channels and resolutions. It needs no fixed configuration or file naming conventions, and file and image loading runs multi-threaded.
Assets can be dragged into the 3ds Max viewport or the Slate Material Editor, imported into the Slate and Compact Material Editors, or merged and imported as 3D files and max scenes with automatic filepath relinking. You can choose LODs, resolutions and variations, import multiple assets at once, and apply post-import operations such as retargeting files, auto-renaming objects, adding to a new layer, creating a skylight and placing objects on surfaces. It has been actively tested with sources including MegaScans, Fab, Poliigon, PolyHaven, Textures.com, Arroway Texture and Location Textures.
The plugin supports 3ds Max 2021 to 2024 and works with Arnold, V-Ray, Corona, Octane, Redshift, FStorm, Physical, PBR and Standard materials.
