Deepfocus is an optically correct lens simulator for Blender, built on an OSL camera that renders fast on GPU. It lets you fine-tune a wide range of lenses and their distinct depth of field, with a built-in F-stop and interactive focus peaking for setting where the frame falls into focus.
The tool models optical imperfections including bokeh bias, field curvature, chromatic aberration, and lens breathing. Bokeh and lens dirt can be driven by image textures, and the package includes over ten texture assets. One-click presets cover classic lens types such as Cinema Prime, Anamorphic, Vintage Petzval, Tiltshift, and Newtonian Telescope.
Version 1.1 adds an advanced distortion mode with k1, k2, k3, p1, and p2 coefficients, a diffraction spike option to simulate astrophotography lenses, and a bounding box slider for the focus object, alongside UI and script optimization. Deepfocus runs on Blender 4.5+ and uses the Cycles render engine.
