DepthForm earns its place in the superhive library for turning a reference image into either a bake-ready or standalone mesh through a guided set of scale, rotation, extrude, tilt and bevel steps.
DepthForm is a Blender addon from wans7 that converts image shapes into 3D models. You choose the folder where your images are located, select the image containing the shape you want, and click Refresh if it does not appear in the collection. From there you pick one of two operations: Depth or Form.
Depth is meant for baking. After setting up the image shape you adjust scale and rotation, choose an Extrude or Push In effect, optionally add tilt, then bevel the edges by scrolling the middle mouse wheel and refine the bevel settings for a bake-ready model. Form turns the image shape into a mesh, offering only the extrude feature; you set scale, rotation, extrude and tilt, then pick an Open, Solid, or Mirror result before beveling.
DepthForm supports Blender 4.0 through 5.1 and is distributed under the GPL license. Documentation is included, and a demo video is available.
Depthform - Image Shape Model Generation is best for blender users modeling shapes from images and preparing them for normal baking.
Depthform - Image Shape Model Generation is completely free to download and use.
DepthForm lists support for Blender versions 4.0 through 5.1, covering the 4.x series and into the 5.x range. If you run a version within that span, the addon is listed as compatible. It is distributed under the GPL license. For versions outside that range, or to confirm behaviour on the newest Blender builds, check the developer's page for the latest compatibility details before installing.
DepthForm offers two operations once you pick an image shape. Depth is used for baking: you adjust scale and rotation, choose an Extrude or Push In effect, optionally add tilt, bevel edges by scrolling the middle mouse wheel, then fine-tune the bevel settings for a bake-ready model. Form turns the image shape into a mesh, where only the extrude feature is available; you set scale, rotation, extrude and tilt, then choose an Open, Solid, or Mirror result before beveling.
DepthForm works from images stored in a folder you choose. You select the folder where your images live, then pick the image that contains the shape you want to model. If the image does not show up in the collection, clicking Refresh updates the list so it appears. From there you choose Depth or Form and begin adjusting the shape. This folder-based selection is how you feed a reference image into the addon before generating a model.
DepthForm is listed as free in this catalog, and it is distributed under the GPL license. Licensing terms can change over time, so for current pricing, tiers, or usage rights, visit the developer's page directly. GPL generally governs how the addon's code can be used and redistributed. If you need specifics for personal, freelance, or studio use, the creator's listing on the developer's page is the authoritative source to confirm before you rely on it.
