What is Dispmapping?

Dispmapping is a Blender add-on that works with Stable Diffusion WebUI depth to generate depth images, then create 3D scenes in Blender by one click. It also adds a shading material function, and can incorporate AI-generated images for adding materials to the grid. Depth images and AI-generated raw images are stored in separate directories within the add-on's grayscale folder.

The add-on reads grayscale images in PNG, JPG or BMP format. The grayscale directory name must remain unchanged, and its first- and second-level sub-directories specify category names in a structure such as grayscale-animal-dragon, with images placed inside the second-level sub-directory. Users apply all transforms first, then add displacement mapping. Pressing the Y key adds a floating panel for changing category names.

Version 1.5.4 added image real-time overview and support for Blender 4.2. Installation uses a nested zip: mydispmapping1.5.4.zip is unzipped to reveal the installation zip mydispmapping.zip, kept this way to maintain edition consistency. The add-on supports Windows only and is documented.
