GeoSketch stands out in the superhive library because it grew from a studio's real production work in architectural modelling and 3D printing rather than as a general-purpose add-on. Keep in mind that until version 1.0, its UI and functionality may still change.
GeoSketch is a lightweight drawing tool for Blender built to sketch, create and modify existing geometry in a precise way. Rather than working as an app-inside-app with a separate philosophy, it integrates into Blender. It began as an internal studio tool for production use and is used mostly for architectural modelling and 3D printing, forming part of the developer's daily workflow on real projects.
The main Draw tool runs in Mesh Edit Mode and handles precise 3D drawing and geometry creation with automatic intersection and overlap handling, as well as precise cuts on existing geometry. A complete snapping system underpins the tools, spanning a Dominant Plane drawing plane, object snapping (OSNAP), direction snapping (DSNAP), distance unit snapping (USNAP) and angle snapping (ASNAP).
Alongside Draw, GeoSketch adds Edge divide and Orient 3D Cursor utilities, plus an initial Guides system kept as pure mathematical geometry for precise intersections. It stays compatible with the newest Blender version and at least the latest LTS release. Until version 1.0, the UI and functionality may change.
Geosketch is best for architectural modelling and 3D printing work in Blender that calls for precise geometry creation and editing.
Geosketch is completely free to download and use.
GeoSketch is kept compatible with the newest Blender version and at least the latest LTS release, since those are the versions the developer uses most internally, and new functionality is implemented for those versions only. Because the add-on has not yet reached version 1.0, the current release is 0.3.25 and both the UI and functionality may change at any time based on tool improvements and user feedback. Check the developer's page for the current compatibility details before installing.
GeoSketch's main Draw tool works in Mesh Edit Mode, with a default shortcut of D. You place consecutive points along an edge chain with the left mouse button, and the chain ends when you press the right mouse button or automatically once it closes a loop. Press Enter or Space to confirm and exit, or Esc to cancel. Holding Shift locks the direction of the line and lets you project other objects onto it, while numeric input locks the line length.
GeoSketch includes a snapping system shared across its tools. It uses a Dominant Plane as the default drawing plane, guessed from the viewport orientation, with a small origin gizmo showing which plane is active. Object snapping (OSNAP) targets points such as vertices, midpoints and perpendiculars to edges, while direction snapping (DSNAP) works along world, local or 3D Cursor axes, extensions and perpendiculars, with a Shift direction lock. USNAP snaps to the nearest distance unit multiplier, and ASNAP snaps to the nearest angle multiplier.
GeoSketch is listed as free here in our catalog. It bundles the main Draw tool together with the Edge divide and Orient 3D Cursor utilities, plus an initial Guides system. For current licensing terms and any conditions attached to the add-on, check the developer's page directly, since details can change over time as the tool moves toward its version 1.0 release. That page is also the place to confirm the latest available build.
