Global Mirror stands out in the superhive library because it centralizes Mirror modifier control: one active object drives the same settings across every linked part in the scene.
Global Mirror is a Blender add-on built around managing Mirror modifiers across complex symmetrical models. Instead of adjusting the same settings on each separate part, it introduces a Global Mirror modifier and treats the currently active object as the master controller. Whatever you set on that modifier is broadcast to every other Global Mirror modifier in the scene.
The workflow is direct: add the Global Mirror modifier from the Add Modifier > Generate menu to each part you want to sync, then select any one of them to make it the active object. Pick your Mirror Object, such as a central Empty, and configure the axis, merge limit, and other options. Every other object carrying the modifier snaps to the same settings, and changing any part's modifier updates the rest.
It syncs the Mirror Object, Axis, Bisect, Flip, Merge Limit, and more, and works across every mesh object in the .blend file that has the modifier. Compatible with Blender 3.0 through 4.5, it suits hard-surface modelers building robots, spaceships, vehicles, and weapons, architectural visualization, and character artists managing symmetrical armor, accessories, and props.
Global Mirror is best for hard-surface modelers building symmetrical robots, spaceships, vehicles, and weapons; architectural visualization work; and character artists managing symmetrical armor, accessories, and props.
Global Mirror is completely free to download and use.
Global Mirror lists compatibility with Blender versions 3.0 through 4.5, so it covers a wide span of releases including the 4.x series. The add-on is distributed under the GPL license. If you run a version inside that range, the Global Mirror modifier and its active-object sync system are designed to work. For versions outside that stated range, check the developer's page for the latest compatibility details before installing, since support beyond 4.5 isn't confirmed here.
Global Mirror is listed for use with Blender's render engines, including Blender-Internal, Cycles, and Eevee. Because it operates on Mirror modifiers rather than shading or lighting, its behaviour centers on geometry sync rather than any single renderer. That means you can apply the same active-object workflow to manage symmetrical models regardless of which of these engines you render with. For further detail on engine support, the developer's page is the place to confirm.
Global Mirror adds a button to Blender's Add Modifier menu under the Generate section, so applying it takes one click. Add the Global Mirror modifier to each of the parts you want to sync, then select any one of them to make it the active object. In that modifier, pick your Mirror Object and configure the axis, merge limit, and other options, and every other object carrying the modifier snaps to the same settings.
Global Mirror syncs the key properties of the Mirror modifier from your active object to every other linked modifier in the scene. These include the Mirror Object, Axis, Bisect, Flip, and Merge Limit, among others. Set the Mirror Object once, such as a central Empty, on the active object's modifier, and each other part mirrors across it. Change any part's modifier afterward and the rest follow that object's lead across the whole .blend file.
Global Mirror is listed as free here in our catalog. Licensing and availability can change over time, so for the current terms it's best to check the developer's page directly. The add-on is distributed under the GPL license. Once installed, you'll find the Global Mirror option in Blender's Add Modifier menu under Generate, ready to apply across the mesh objects you want to keep symmetrical.
