Laser Scan It is a Blender addon from EdenWeby 3D that adds a customizable laser scan visual effect to the active material. Working through Blender's node editor, it builds a procedural shader that mimics scanning lasers, aimed at sci-fi assets, holograms, and stylized technical effects.
Setup runs from a single button that injects the laser scan node system into any material or object. From the panel you can choose the axis the scan line travels along, set the beam color with a color picker, and rotate the scan line around any axis using a user-defined angle for diagonal or radial scans. Sliders cover brightness, beam width, and noise strength, while distortion and procedural noise add flicker and a more dynamic, organic feel.
Everything stays procedural and fully editable, with no baking or destructive operations. Generated shader nodes can be copied between materials or saved in node groups for reuse. Documentation and a demo video are available, and the addon is listed as free here.
