Loopy earns its place in the aescripts library as a compact panel that keeps common looping tasks, from Cycle and Ping Pong to Time Remap on footage, in one place. Its compatibility stretches from CC 2019 to After Effects 2026, and it's listed here as free.
Loopy is a panel for After Effects that handles looping across keyframes, paths, pre-comps and footage. It provides four loop types, Cycle, Ping Pong, Offset and Continue, so you can apply the behaviour you need directly from the panel. You can also change the loop direction and access options along with a user guide.
Beyond the standard expression-based loops, Alt-clicking the Cycle Loop button applies Time Remap to AV or pre-comp layers without adding an expression, with keyframes set to the trimmed duration. Loopy can set a keyframe modifier and limit it to existing keyframes, and it can retain an existing expression already on a property when you apply a loop.
Version 1.2.4 works with After Effects 2026 through 2020 and CC 2019. Recent updates covered code optimisation, a link to the User Guide in the 'More information' panel, and licence framework changes addressing earlier activation issues. A demo video is available.
Loopy is best for after Effects users who need to loop keyframes, paths, pre-comps or footage, and who want loop options and keyframe modifier controls in a single panel.
Loopy is completely free to download and use.
Loopy lists compatibility with After Effects 2026, 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020 and CC 2019. Version 1.2.4 was released on March 26, 2026, adding code optimisation and a link to the User Guide in the 'More information' panel and the Installation Guide PDF. If you're running any of those releases, the panel should install and run. For confirmation on your exact build, check the developer's page.
Loopy normally applies looping through an expression, but Alt-clicking the Cycle Loop button instead applies Time Remap to AV or pre-comp layers, without adding an expression, with keyframes set to the trimmed duration. This function was added in version 1.1, along with KBar compatibility and an icon for it. The panel also offers Cycle, Ping Pong, Offset and Continue loop options for keyframes, paths, pre-comps and footage.
Loopy is listed as free in this catalog, so you can add it to your After Effects setup without a price shown here. The 1.2.3 release updated the licence framework, which the developer noted should resolve problems some users had with activation. For current licensing terms, activation details and any changes, check the developer's page rather than relying on a figure here.
Loopy can retain an existing expression on a property when you apply a loop, so it doesn't overwrite what's already in place. The panel also lets you set a keyframe modifier and limit that modifier to existing keyframes. A fix in version 1.2.3 ensured that when the Limit Keyframe Modifier toggle is inactive, the modifier value is included unchanged in the generated expression, and that toggle no longer disables the modifier text field.
