Magic Coordinate is a dynamic mapping system that maps evenly and manages the scaling of your materials automatically across multiple objects of varying proportions, all while sharing the same material. It auto-normalizes stretching on the fly, so you don't need to apply scale transformations in Object Mode. It also works for animated characters and other parametric, non-destructive, mesh-deforming setups.
Object, Generated and Rest Position coordinates carry limitations and only suit specific conditions, while UVs need preparation steps that may break if geometry changes are introduced. Magic Coordinate lets you skip UVs and baking as much as possible, taking 3D procedural materials further down the pipeline. Materials stay usable on animated characters while preserving their procedural capabilities, opening the door to animated materials under deforming geometry.
The workflow happens in two basic steps, in either order. The Set Magic Coordinate Wizard sets up the modifier for multiple objects in a single click, and the Get Magic Coordinate Wizard makes any existing smart procedural material compatible in one or two clicks by replacing or connecting the nodegroup as coordinate input for the necessary sockets on the active material's nodetree.
