Mask Prompter is a plugin from Blace Plugins for After Effects and Premiere Pro that generates mattes through prompting. Built on Segment Anything 3, it supports text prompting, box and concept prompting, and a detection threshold slider. You can produce multi object mattes from text, draw rectangles and adjust them with a rectangle scale slider, and the plugin includes multiple object detection models.
On the performance side, Mask Prompter runs in a CPU mode and also offers hardware acceleration. On Windows, an Nvidia graphics card is required for the GPU version, while systems with other GPUs fall back to CPU mode. A CUDA Memory Sharing option accelerates rendering of big resolutions above 4k on CUDA, and a Stop Processing button cancels long-running computations immediately. GPU mode may not be as stable as CPU mode.
Mask Prompter supports After Effects 2026, 2025, 2024, and 2023, plus Premiere Pro 2026 and 2025. The trial is fully functional with a blue cross watermark that clears once a valid license is entered, so the developer recommends testing your configuration before purchasing. The current version is 3.4.59, and a demo video is available.
