Stands out in the blender_extensions library for a narrow, practical job: turning a RealityScan photogrammetry export into one animated Blender camera, with support for focal length and sensor shift animation and Movie Clip background setup.
Merge Selected Cameras is a Blender add-on from K_Naoki that converts individual cameras exported from photogrammetry software such as RealityScan into a single animated camera. The result lets you use photogrammetry software as a camera tracking tool within Blender, combining a sequence of cameras into one continuous animated camera from a single camera selection.
The add-on supports variable focal length and sensor shift animations, inserting keyframes only when those properties change. It can process multiple cuts or additional photogrammetry sequences captured at the same location, and it can automatically set background images based on Blender Movie Clips, matching render resolution, start frame, sensor size and focal length to the selected clip. Options cover merging only the selected cameras, deleting original cameras after merging, and choosing a custom or inherited camera name.
Cameras are imported from Alembic (.abc) or FBX (.fbx) exports with camera export enabled, and the tool assumes a sequential camera setup. The panel sits in the 3D View sidebar under the Tracking tab. It is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer and distributed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later.
Merge Selected Cameras is best for blender artists using photogrammetry software such as RealityScan as a camera tracking tool, who need to turn exported individual cameras into a single animated camera.
Merge Selected Cameras is completely free to download and use.
Merge Selected Cameras is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer, so it runs on the current long-term support release and later builds. The add-on's panel lives in the 3D View sidebar under the Tracking tab, where a single camera selection is enough to run Merge Cameras and combine a sequence into one animated camera. Because it targets 4.2 LTS and above, older Blender versions are not listed as supported. For details on a specific build before installing, the developer's GitHub page is the place to check.
Merge Selected Cameras installs by dragging and dropping the add-on into Blender, or by downloading the package and using Install from Disk. Once enabled, its panel appears in the 3D View sidebar under the Tracking tab. To feed it data, first export your scene from RealityScan as Alembic (.abc) or FBX (.fbx) with camera export enabled, keeping the sequence in order since the add-on assumes a sequential camera setup. Texture and image export are optional. From there you select a camera and click Merge Cameras.
Merge Selected Cameras reads cameras exported from photogrammetry software such as RealityScan in Alembic (.abc) or FBX (.fbx) format, with camera export enabled during export. Texture and image export are optional and can be disabled if you do not need them. The add-on assumes a sequential camera setup, so the sequence must be in order. Missing frames in the sequence are not skipped; the cameras connect sequentially regardless. It then merges that sequence into one continuous animated camera starting from the current timeline frame.
Merge Selected Cameras is listed as free here in the catalog, and it is distributed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. The add-on also states that it does not require special permissions. You can add it directly through Blender or download the package and install it from disk. For current licensing terms, the source code, and any updates, the developer's GitHub page is the place to check before you rely on it in a project.
