Overscan Addon, developed by eknath-kambagiri, adds overscan to your Blender renders and is built for professional VFX workflows. It gives independent control over the Left, Right, Top, and Bottom edges, a clear UI, and a live viewport preview toggle. Overscan can be applied using pixel values or percentages, which keeps it flexible across different resolutions and workflows.
After rendering, the add-on writes overscan values directly into the EXR metadata. When the render is loaded into Nuke, Nuke reads those values and sets the bounding box accordingly, without using any reformat node. A global toggle lets you enable or disable overscan.
Overscan Addon is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer and is distributed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. Version 1.1.1 added a @persistent handler to make sure overscan is applied to the camera on file startup.
