miauu's Drag&Drop Pro extends 3ds Max with drag-and-drop handling for files and folders pulled directly from Windows Explorer. Dropping a file can automatically relink all missing textures, and dropped proxy files open instantly in the viewport, with support for V-Ray, Corona, and FStorm proxy formats. When a matching .mat file exists in the same folder, it is auto-assigned to the proxy, and dropping a .mat, .jpg, or .png file loads the matching proxy file automatically. For this pairing to work, the proxy file, .mat file, and thumbnail file must share the same name.
Dropping a .mat file applies the material to the object under the mouse, and .mat files dropped into the Slate Material Editor open the materials from those files. The plugin also opens shortcut (.lnk) files by resolving what they point to, and can extract .7z, .zip, and .rar archives to process the supported files inside.
For merged .max files, the "Create Layer Per File" option places objects from each file into a new layer named after that file. Objects can also be grouped by dropped file with the group name matching the file, and dropped file contents can be offset to prevent overlap.
