Print Support Pro stands out in the superhive library for keeping the full support-pillar workflow — placement, bulk editing, mirroring, and STL export — inside Blender.
Print Support Pro is a Blender add-on from DUCKLABO for placing support pillars on SLA/DLP 3D prints. Support pillars can be placed automatically with one click, and manual adjustments are graphical. Pillar placement, bridging, and duplication are all configured within Blender, and placement can be fine-tuned to minimize visible marks on prints.
The add-on offers three pillar types: the Auto Pillar, which adjusts angles based on contact surfaces; the Manual Pillar, which can be bent as desired; and the FIX Pillar, which stays firmly in place. You can switch pillar types anytime, make bulk adjustments to thickness and base shape, and add reinforcement pillars as narrow as 0.5mm. Placement can be mirrored from one side of a symmetrical model to the other with a single click, and edited objects can be swapped for ones that already have supports.
Recent versions add a Quick Swap feature done in three steps, batch STL export of multiple selected objects into a single folder, a Base Connection that generates a unified raft, and a grid overlay showing millimeter spacing in overhang areas. Full documentation is available on Notion, and a demo video is available.
Print Support Pro is best for preparing SLA/DLP 3D prints in Blender, especially placing and adjusting support pillars on small, intricate, or symmetrical models.
Print Support Pro is completely free to download and use.
Print Support Pro was created for SLA/DLP 3D printing, where support pillars leave marks that require sanding and post-processing. It lets you configure pillar placement, bridging, and duplication inside Blender, and fine-tune placement to minimize visible marks on prints. It is aimed at stable prints even for small and intricate objects such as architectural miniatures. Selected objects can also be exported as separate STL files into a single folder, with an option to move XY positions to the origin for arrangement in slicer software.
Print Support Pro provides three pillar types for different placement situations. The Auto Pillar adjusts its angle based on contact surfaces, the Manual Pillar can be bent as desired, and the FIX Pillar stays firmly in place. You can switch between these types at any time to match each placement area. Beyond the types themselves, thickness and base shape can be adjusted in bulk, and reinforcement pillars can be added as narrow as 0.5mm for narrow gaps.
Print Support Pro is built to reduce repeated work on symmetrical models. After adjusting pillar placement on one side, you can mirror it to the other side with a single click, rather than repeating the same adjustments manually. Placement itself starts with one-click automatic pillars, and manual adjustments are graphical. There is also a Quick Swap feature done in three steps, letting you apply pillars to multiple part variations, with optional simultaneous swapping and alignment when the checkbox is enabled.
Print Support Pro supports batch STL export of multiple objects. Selected fix objects can be exported as separate STL files into a single folder, and each file is automatically named after its corresponding object. When the relevant checkbox is enabled, all objects are exported with their XY positions moved to the origin, which is convenient for repositioning and arrangement in slicer software. A Base Connection option can also generate a unified raft under connected pillars, improving stability and ease of removal from the build platform.
Print Support Pro is listed as free here. For current licensing terms, and to confirm what is included, check the developer's page. Documentation is available on Notion, and a demo video is available as well. Pillar placement, bridging, duplication, mirroring across symmetrical models, and batch STL export are all configured within Blender. The three pillar types and the 0.5mm reinforcement pillars are part of the same add-on.
