Projection Modeling is an add-on for Blender that creates 3D models using 2D projections. The projections are built from curves and mesh planes, and you control the 3D shape through them in real time. The approach suits creating parts, low-poly models, in some cases high-poly models, building according to drawings, and parts of different shapes.
Beyond projections, the add-on includes functions that optimize the mesh and work with curves. Operation modes cover 2D fill and Pure Curve, with Pure Curve working well in conjunction with the Curve Work add-on. Projection objects can be built from a mesh plane filled with faces or from empty paths, and several objects, mixing meshes and curves, can be added to the projections collection at once.
Tutorials cover the basic principles, working with mesh projections, making text from projections, and newer work modes, with voiceover available in English and Japanese. Distributed under the GPL license, Projection Modeling is a Blender extension compatible with Blender 4.2 through 5.1.
