Quick Rotate stands out in the superhive library for keeping axis, angle, and orientation controls in a single popup with a ghost preview before you confirm.
Quick Rotate is a lightweight Blender add-on that rotates the active object through a popup menu. Press the hotkey (Shift + W by default) to open the menu, pick the X, Y, or Z axis, and enter a custom rotation angle such as 30°, 90°, or 123.45°. You can toggle between Local and Global orientation, and a built-in Reset Rotation button zeroes out the rotation when needed.
Before you commit, a live semi-transparent ghost preview in a fixed light-blue color appears in the viewport, so you can review the result and press OK to apply or Esc to cancel. The operation is undo-safe and non-destructive, affecting only the active object, and it works in both Solid and Material Preview shading.
The hotkey is customizable: from the add-on preferences you can change the main letter key and toggle Ctrl or Alt modifiers, then save the setup for future sessions. Quick Rotate supports Blender 4.0 to 4.4, works with the Cycles and Eevee render engines, and is released under the GPL license.
Quick Rotate is best for modelers and kitbashers who need quick, repeatable object rotations.
Quick Rotate is completely free to download and use.
Quick Rotate supports Blender versions 4.0 through 4.4, so it runs on 4.4 as well as earlier releases in that range. It's used in Object Mode, where you select an object and press the hotkey to open the rotation popup. The add-on works with both the Cycles and Eevee render engines, and its transparent ghost preview displays in both Solid and Material Preview shading. For the current supported range, check the developer's page before installing.
Quick Rotate installs through Blender's add-on system. Open Edit > Preferences > Add-ons, click Install, and select the quick_rotate.zip file, then enable the checkbox for Quick Rotate. Once enabled, you can open Preferences > Add-ons > Quick Rotate to customize the hotkey and toggle Ctrl or Alt modifiers, then save your preferences so they persist across sessions. The default hotkey is Shift + W, and you can change the main letter key to whatever you prefer.
Quick Rotate affects only the active object, so it rotates one object per operation rather than a whole selection. The developer notes that multi-object support may come later, but it isn't part of the current behaviour. Each rotation is undo-safe and non-destructive, and the transparent light-blue preview leaves your real object untouched until you press OK to confirm. If you need to clear a rotation, the built-in Reset Rotation button zeroes it out.
Quick Rotate is listed as free here in the catalog. It's released under the GPL license, and for current licensing details you can check the developer's page. The add-on is available for Blender 4.0 through 4.4 and includes the popup rotation menu, axis and orientation controls, custom angle input, the Reset Rotation button, and the live ghost preview. A demo video is also available.
