RE:Vision Effects RE:Grade adds color correction tools to After Effects and Premiere Pro, with features to manipulate saturation and exposure alongside looks and multi-app workflow tools, including 3D LUT inversion support. It aims to restore footage otherwise deemed beyond repair.
An Automatic Contrast Enhancement (ACE) tool addresses difficult mixed-lighting or very uneven illumination situations, such as shooting against a window. A multi-resolution processing method combines global contrast, local contrast, and per-pixel sharpness in a single tool, offering adjustment at different scales without artifacts such as halos, ringing, or clamping. This is useful for SDR to HDR processing to reveal shadow detail or handle extreme level remapping from incorrectly exposed areas or unknown log-like curves.
RE:Grade supports Hald Clut and can save as a 3D LUT file, letting you build libraries of color looks. Its color look-up inversion feature helps normalize footage across a multi-application workflow. Additional tools include Exposure Fusion tone mapping for HDR-like effects, a mini-color corrector with CDL controls, HLS color and tone limiters, and color fringe attenuation.
