Why we like it

Published over five years ago and covering Blender releases from 2.8 to 4.3, Render Task List keeps batch render configuration organised as a set of individual tasks. Note that the developer flags some bugs still present during ongoing development, with details on the documentation tab.

What is Render Task List?

Render Task List, from developer Bookyakuno, is a Blender add-on for managing multiple render settings and rendering them as a batch. You can make individual settings for each task, and each task can define its file path, number of frames, frame range, file format, rendering engine, samples and color management, among other options.

Tasks can specify scenes, view layers and cameras, then export all at once. You can temporarily hide a specific object and collection, apply material overrides (also available on Eevee), use a pseudo normal map, and add a cross line through the compositor. A camera list makes it easier to switch and select cameras in the scene, and rendering an external blend file is available as an experimental option.

It runs on a wide range of Blender releases, from 2.8 through 4.3, and is distributed under the GPL license. Some bugs are noted during development, with details on the documentation tab.

Who is Render Task List best for?

Render Task List is best for blender users who need to render multiple configurations in a batch, each with its own settings.

How much does Render Task List cost?

Render Task List is completely free to download and use.

The add-on's other functions include per-task render settings such as file path, frame range and rendering engine.

Does Render Task List support material overrides in Eevee?

Render Task List offers material overrides, and these are also available on Eevee. Alongside overrides, the add-on can temporarily hide a specific object and collection, generate a pseudo normal map, and add a cross line through the compositor.
