Earns its place in the Toolfarm library by extending transform and snapping controls to parametric objects, which otherwise offer less flexibility once you place, rotate or scale them.
Rodenburg Parametric Toolkit adds selection, scaling, rotating, positioning and snapping tools to Cinema 4D, working on both parametric objects and objects already converted to Polygon objects. Parametric objects are flexible for adjusting proportions and subdivisions but offer less flexibility when placing, rotating or scaling them, and the toolkit closes that gap. To resize or reorient an object, grab a corner or edge of its bounding box and drag.
A large variety of snapping options let you place objects on other bounding boxes or surfaces, adjust an object's size to reach another object, or rotate objects to point at a given target. All options are laid out as icons and can be integrated into your preferred Cinema 4D layout.
A second plugin included in the toolkit provides parametric selection tools, with options to select caps, roundings, or static and animated random selections on parametric or Polygon objects.
Rodenburg Parametric Toolkit is best for cinema 4D artists who want to place, scale and rotate parametric or converted objects using bounding-box handles and snapping, along with parametric selection of caps, roundings and random selections.
Rodenburg Parametric Toolkit is completely free to download and use.
Rodenburg Parametric Toolkit works with Cinema 4D on Windows and MacOS X across releases R16 through R19. It also runs with R20, but only if the free Insydium Bridge Plugin is installed, which is available from Insydium's website. On the supported releases, the toolkit's transform, snapping and selection tools become available for both parametric objects and objects converted to Polygon objects. For any release outside this range, check the developer's page before relying on it in production.
Rodenburg Parametric Toolkit runs natively on Cinema 4D R16 through R19 on Windows and MacOS X, where no bridge is required. To use it with R20, you need the free Insydium Bridge Plugin installed, available from Insydium's website. This dependency applies only to R20, so if you are working in that release, grab the Bridge Plugin first and set it up before running the toolkit.
Rodenburg Parametric Toolkit is built to handle both parametric objects and objects already converted to Polygon objects. Parametric objects are flexible for adjusting proportions and subdivisions but offer less flexibility when placing, rotating or scaling them, and the toolkit closes that gap. You can grab a corner or edge of an object's bounding box and drag to adjust its size or orientation, whether the object is still parametric or has been converted. The included selection plugin also targets caps, roundings and random selections on parametric or Polygon objects.
Rodenburg Parametric Toolkit is listed as free here. For current licensing terms and to download it, head to the developer's page rather than assuming any particular arrangement, since terms can change over time. The toolkit bundles two plugins: one for scaling, rotating, positioning and snapping objects, and a second for parametric selection tools including caps, roundings and static or animated random selections.
