UVW 2 XYZ
by Chuggnut
UVW 2 XYZ is a 3ds Max script that converts UVs into a mesh version. It also copies 3D vertex normals to the flat mesh, so the result lights like a 3D object in a render.

RoomBuilder stands out in the ScriptSpot library as a focused, one-click room builder for single-layer walls. It sits at version 1.00, and a demo video is available.
RoomBuilder is a MAXScript utility that automates room construction inside 3ds Max, building walls, floor, ceiling, plinths and cornices from given dimensions or from AutoCAD contours in a single click. It is recommended for single-layer walls without thickness, since the rest of the room is built from the wall contour, and the same shape drives the floor, ceiling, plinth and cornice.
For a rectangular room, you set length, width, height and the floor level along Z, then check or uncheck boxes for the floor, ceiling and other details before pressing Create Room.
Non-rectangular rooms are built from splines. Switching to Use custom shape lets you Pick the splines you need; selected splines are added to the Custom shape list and marked red in the viewport, and a wrongly chosen spline can be removed with the Delete button. The developer recommends using one spline object per room.
RoomBuilder is best for visualizers blocking out simple rooms with single-layer walls from dimensions or AutoCAD contours in 3ds Max.
RoomBuilder is completely free to download and use.
RoomBuilder installs like a standard MAXScript utility. Open 3ds Max, go to the Command Panel, choose the Utilities tab (the hammer icon), click MAXScript, then Run Script and select the RoomBuilder file. Back on the same panel, open the Utilities dropdown and pick RoomBuilder to load its interface. If you want the script to load automatically each time, copy it into the 3ds Max Startup scripts folder, for example the scripts\Startup directory under your 3ds Max installation, so it loads on its own.
RoomBuilder handles non-rectangular rooms through splines. Switch the toggle to Use custom shape, click the Pick button, and select the splines you want as the room outline. Chosen splines appear in the Custom shape list and are marked red in the viewport, so you can see what is selected. If you pick the wrong one, the Delete button removes it from the list. The developer recommends using a single spline object for each room, then pressing Create Room to build it.
RoomBuilder is designed for single-layer walls without thickness. The same shape used for the walls also drives the floor, ceiling, plinth and cornice, so the whole room is generated from that one contour. Because of this, it suits simple single-sided wall setups rather than multi-layer walls with modeled thickness. For a rectangular room you set the length, width, height and floor level along Z; for other shapes you supply splines. In both cases checkboxes let you include or skip the floor, ceiling and other details.
RoomBuilder is listed as free here. For current licensing terms and to download version 1.00, head to the developer's page, where the script and installation notes are provided. The page also links a demo video. Since terms can change over time, confirming details directly with the developer is the safest way to know what is included before installing it into 3ds Max, especially given the script currently sits at version 1.00.
