Path Distribute is a MAXScript utility from Martin Breidt for 3ds Max, built around one task: spacing selected objects evenly along a curve. You pick the objects and the curve, and the script positions them at even intervals along its length.
The behaviour that sets it apart is persistence. After the objects are distributed, they maintain their relative positions when the curve is modified. Editing the curve moves the objects along with it, so their spacing relative to one another is preserved and the layout follows the reshaped path.
Path Distribute is listed here as version 0.1 and is compatible with 3ds Max 5 and 6. It's cataloged as free; head to Martin Breidt's page for the current download and any licensing details.
