Sandbox stands out in the aescripts library for connecting several web animation engines to a prompt-driven workflow inside After Effects and Premiere Pro. The 2.0.4 update adds new flagship Claude and GPT models alongside a batch of stability fixes.
Sandbox brings generative AI into Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, connecting animation engines including html5, Three.js, GSAP, Pixi.js and p5.js directly to your Adobe workflow. Instead of writing code by hand, you describe what you want in natural language and Sandbox generates code-based animations from those prompts.
The extension can produce 3D models, physics simulations, kinetic typography and data visualizations, turning text into editable, high-quality, render-ready assets. For character work, Smart Labeling lets you click on SVG parts and assign semantic labels such as HEAD, LEFT_ARM or BODY. Those labels are passed to the AI so it knows which part is which, making prompts like "raise the left arm" possible.
It sits at popularity rank 25 in the aescripts library and supports After Effects and Premiere Pro releases from 2023 through 2026. Sandbox is currently listed as free here, and a demo video is available.
Sandbox is best for motion graphics artists working in After Effects and Premiere Pro who want to generate code-based animations from natural language prompts.
Sandbox is completely free to download and use.
Sandbox supports Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro releases 2026, 2025, 2024 and 2023, so it runs on the 2023 version as well as the three newer ones. The current build is version 2.0.4, updated on July 12, 2026. If you're on a release within that range, Sandbox should fit into your Adobe workflow. For versions outside this list, or to confirm the latest supported releases, check the developer's page before installing.
Sandbox integrates several animation engines directly into your Adobe workflow: html5, Three.js, GSAP, Pixi.js and p5.js. These power the code-based animations it generates from your natural language prompts, covering outputs such as 3D models, physics simulations, kinetic typography and data visualizations. The results come through as editable, high-quality, render-ready assets inside After Effects and Premiere Pro, so you can continue working with them in your composition.
Sandbox includes a Smart Labeling feature that lets you click on SVG parts and assign them semantic labels such as HEAD, LEFT_ARM or BODY. Those labels are then passed to the AI as context, so it knows exactly which part is which. This is aimed at character animation: with the parts labeled, you can write prompts like "raise the left arm" and the AI can act on the correct piece rather than guessing which element you mean.
Sandbox is listed as free in this catalog. Because licensing terms can change, check the developer's page on aescripts for the current details before you rely on that. The version listed here is 2.0.4, updated July 12, 2026, with support for After Effects and Premiere Pro releases from 2023 through 2026. A demo video is also available if you want to see more before installing.
Sandbox version 2.0.4, released July 12, 2026, adds new flagship Claude and GPT models along with a set of fixes. These include stripping AI prose after the last brace to prevent runtime crashes, auto-closing unclosed IIFEs, guarding composer.dispose() on both the main and re-record paths, resolving params conflicts, and fixing a fullscreen freeze on close via WEBGL_lose_context GPU release. It also improves the Three.js system prompt to enforce correct lighting on every generation.
