Travel Distance is a MaxScript controller for 3ds Max that measures and exposes the distance an object has traveled. It works as a controller applied to a selected object, point, or other item in your scene.
Setup runs in a few steps. You select an object and run the script, then open the modify panel and click the Pick Reference button to choose the object you want to measure. Animate that object in autokey and the reported value changes as it moves. The resulting value can be used in wire parameters, expressions, or script controllers.
Listed with compatibility across all versions of 3ds Max, Travel Distance arrives as a small traveldistance.ms file of roughly 1.25 KB and is offered here as free. It carries version 1.00.
