Helix
by mograph.tools
Helix creates helix paths in After Effects using easy-to-use controls similar to Cinema 4D's helix tool. It adds subdivisions with smooth tangents, camera culling and a set of additional easy-access controls.

TurboSplines earns its place in the scriptspot library by building on standard 3ds Max modifiers and geometry, which keeps meshes and animations editable without the script and carries no plugin dependency.
TurboSplines is a 3ds Max script built for producing multiple spline wrapping animations — path deform animations — quickly. It automatically assigns Path Deform modifiers to preset or custom meshes, letting you generate many spline-driven animations that you control from a friendly interface. It can create growing splines, animated cables, wires, ropes, ribbons, moving tentacles, branches, and worms.
You can choose between predefined mesh types (cylinder, capsule, box, ribbon) or supply your own profile shapes or meshes, and it handles many meshes per path at once. Parameters including radius, scale, height, segmentation, path percent, rotation, twist, and stretch can all be animated, with three animation modes along the path: move, grow, and reveal. Variation and offset can be applied to add realism.
Because TurboSplines uses standard 3ds Max modifiers and geometry, you can edit your meshes and animations without the script, and there's no plugin dependency. It also converts renderable splines into animatable path deformed meshes with a single click, and includes a tool to turn any spline into a custom helical path for growing springs and spiral cables.
TurboSplines is best for 3ds Max artists animating spline-driven meshes such as growing splines, cables, wires, ropes, ribbons, tentacles, branches and worms.
TurboSplines is completely free to download and use.
TurboSplines is compatible with 3ds Max 2015 and later versions, so it fits fairly long-standing pipelines as well as current releases. The tool runs as a 3ds Max script and relies on the software's standard Path Deform modifiers and geometry rather than proprietary plugins. Because of that, the meshes and animations it produces remain editable inside 3ds Max even without the script loaded. If you're unsure whether a particular build is supported, the developer's page at splinedynamics.com lists current details and offers tutorials and documentation.
TurboSplines has no plugin dependency. It works by automatically assigning 3ds Max's standard Path Deform modifiers to preset or custom meshes, and it uses the software's native modifiers and geometry throughout. Because of that, you can edit your meshes and animations without the script, and the results are built entirely from standard 3ds Max components rather than a proprietary plugin. The tool handles many meshes per path simultaneously and assigns mesh references to all the paths, keeping them bound to the original object.
TurboSplines is listed as free in this catalog. Pricing and licensing can change over time, so for the current terms it's best to check the developer's page at splinedynamics.com, where you'll also find tutorials and documentation. The tool is a 3ds Max script for creating, editing and animating multiple spline wrapping animations, and it ships with additional features such as converting renderable splines into path deformed meshes and turning splines into custom helical paths for growing springs and spiral cables.
TurboSplines lets you choose between predefined mesh types — cylinder, capsule, box and ribbon — or supply your own custom profile shapes or meshes. It can handle many meshes per path at the same time, and offers Taper, Tip and Slice start/end options to refine each mesh's final look. You can animate parameters including radius, scale, height, segmentation, path percent, rotation, twist and stretch, and copy and paste parameters between meshes. Three animation modes are available along the path: move, grow and reveal, with variation and offset to add realism.
