Zeed Tools earns its place in the Superhive library for combining stroke-based cutting, panel creation, and symmetrization into one Blender toolkit, with recent updates adding Blender 5.0 compatibility and a ZBrush-inspired Dynamic Subdivision module.
Zeed Tools brings a set of modeling and mesh utilities to Blender, centered on precise cutting and slicing. Its Curve Trim tool cuts meshes with curved or linear strokes in Object, Edit, and Sculpt mode and creates material groups or Face Sets. Curve Trim can also run in Union mode, generating a mesh in the shape of the drawing and merging it with the current mesh, or in Intersect mode, removing mesh areas outside the drawing. The Slice Curve tool works similarly to slice the mesh and create groups or Face Sets.
Beyond cutting, the toolkit turns material groups or Face Sets into panels with a single click, and the Slice Curve tool can slice and instantly convert to panels. A Group Faces feature generates material groups or Face Sets based on edge angles for precise selection and editing. Global crease control lets you set the crease value and add or remove creases based on edge angles, including directly on material groups and Face Sets.
Local and global symmetrization is available in Object, Edit, and Sculpt mode via the symmetry bar or hotkey. A Dynamic Subdivision option toggles Subdivision Surface or Multires for sculpting.
Zeed Tools - Modeling & Mesh Tools is best for blender artists doing hard surface and panel modeling, mesh cutting, and sculpting workflows that use material groups and Face Sets.
Zeed Tools - Modeling & Mesh Tools is completely free to download and use.
Zeed Tools added compatibility with Blender 5.0 in version 1.0.4. The changelog also notes an outdated-version indicator, shown as a red "Z" when "Check on boot" is enabled in preferences, along with an automatic update checker added in an earlier release. For the full list of supported Blender versions and any additional requirements, check the developer's page before installing to confirm your setup is covered.
Zeed Tools provides local and global mesh symmetrization in Object, Edit, and Sculpt mode. It is accessible through the symmetry bar or a hotkey, with a default shortcut of Alt+X. The feature was introduced in version 1.0.4, and later fixes addressed global symmetrization in Sculpt Mode when the active object was not selected in the Outliner. A Symmetrize Tool demonstration video was added in an earlier release for reference.
Zeed Tools includes a Dynamic Subdivision module, added in version 1.0.6 and inspired by ZBrush, that allows quick toggling of Blender's Subdivision Surface or Multiresolution modifiers so you can sculpt with speed and flexibility. A Dynamic Subdivision demonstration video accompanies this feature. The changelog notes it as a way to instantly switch these modifiers on and off during sculpting work within the toolkit.
Zeed Tools is listed as free in this catalog. Because licensing terms can change, check the developer's page for the current details before downloading. The toolkit is actively maintained, with a changelog that runs from the initial 1.0.0 release through version 1.0.7, which added an "Auto Fix Overlap" option to the Panel Loops Menu to fix bevel artifacts on very dense meshes.
