Ai Depth Modeller generates detailed 3D models inside Blender, either from an image or as you paint in the 2D image editor. The built-in AI depth generation runs directly on your local machine, without requiring tokens or contacting external servers. It's compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux, and Blender 3.69 to 4.4 Alpha, and supports a number of freely available AI models — the developer recommends DepthAnything V2 Large.
The workflow is short: choose an image source from the clipboard, a file or a Blender image, click generate, and the model appears. The addon automatically creates depth, colour and 3D bump map textures, assigns materials, and generates UVs and vertex colours. Generated models are solid, watertight objects, making them suitable for rendering and 3D printing.
From there, comprehensive sliders and Blender's texture painting tools let you shape the result, build symmetrical models, and colour the front and back differently. A single click rebuilds the geometry into smoothable quads with smoothing and variable front/back bevel controls, and a voxel re-mesher repairs overlapping geometry while retaining UVs and vertex colours.
