Anim Lib earns its place in the Superhive library by turning the NLA Editor into a clip-management workflow aimed at game animation export.
Anim Lib treats Blender's NLA Editor as a dedicated place to store and manage animation clips. It groups related strips into the same track for easier preview of consecutive animations, and provides quick selection and move tools for flexible reordering at any time. Track and strip management cover selecting tracks above or below the active one, moving strips to a specified track, arranging strips with fixed spacing or preserving original distances, and locating strips by name with partial, case-sensitive, and whole-word matching.
Batch export sends strips to FBX or glTF 2.0 (.glb) for Unreal, Godot, and Unity. You can export each strip as an individual file or merge multiple strips into one, with start-frame options to keep original positions or begin at frame 0 or 1. Validation tools detect empty strips and identify duplicate action usage, generate inspection reports in the Text Editor, and optionally remove empty strips or split duplicate shared actions into independent copies.
Because it repurposes the NLA Editor as a library, Anim Lib is incompatible with blending-based workflows and does not support features such as blending, blend in/out, extrapolation, or animated influence.
Anim Lib is best for blender users who treat the NLA Editor as an animation library and need to organize large numbers of tracks and strips and export game animations.
Anim Lib is completely free to download and use.
Anim Lib supports batch animation export to FBX and glTF 2.0 (.glb) formats for Unreal, Godot, and Unity. You can export each strip as an individual file or merge multiple strips into a single file, and select specific strips to export multiple animations in one operation. Start-frame options let you keep original frame positions, start at frame 0, or start at frame 1. Exported animation names follow the strip names, which keeps large exports consistent with your NLA setup.
Anim Lib intentionally repurposes Blender's NLA Editor as an animation library, which makes it incompatible with blending-based workflows. Features such as extrapolation, blending, blend in/out, auto blend in/out, reversed, cyclic, strip time, animated influence, animated strip time, influence, and strip time are not supported. If animation blending is needed, the developer recommends completing and baking those animations in a separate Blender file, then appending or linking them into your animation library.
Anim Lib includes validation tools that detect empty strips and identify duplicate action usage, and it can automatically generate inspection reports in the Text Editor. It optionally removes empty strips or splits duplicate shared actions into independent copies. It can also rename strips and their linked actions simultaneously, sync strip names and lengths to their linked actions, disable sync length for all strips, and reset all strip properties to default values through the NLA Tools panel.
Anim Lib is listed as free in this catalog. For current licensing terms and any conditions attached to its use, check the developer's page on Superhive, where the most up-to-date information is maintained. A demo video is also available if you want to see the add-on before installing it. Because pricing and license details can change over time, the developer's page remains the authoritative source for those specifics.
