Anypaste stands out in the superhive library for turning brush-texture swaps into a single Ctrl+V paste, with support for transparent images and clipboard sources ranging from web browsers to Photoshop.
Anypaste brings a copy-and-paste workflow to brush textures in Blender. Press Ctrl+V and the image on your clipboard replaces the current brush texture, working in both 3D and 2D across Texture Paint and Sculpt modes.
To use it, switch to Texture Paint mode and create a new Texture and Image in the Brush or Texture settings. Copy an image to the clipboard from a web browser, Photoshop, or another graphics program, or from within Blender itself, then press Ctrl+V in Blender to swap the brush texture. Transparent images are supported. Keep the brush color pure white, otherwise the texture picks up a tint or appears completely black.
Anypaste is currently available for Windows x64 only and runs with Blender versions 2.9 through 5.1. It works with the Cycles and Eevee render engines and is released under the GPL license by BlendPix.
Anypaste is best for blender artists who paint textures and want to pull brush textures straight from the clipboard.
Anypaste is completely free to download and use.
Anypaste supports Blender versions 2.9 through 5.1, so it covers a wide range of releases including 5.1. It's built around a Ctrl+V hotkey that pastes a clipboard image into the current brush texture, and it works with the Cycles and Eevee render engines. Note that it is currently available for Windows x64 only, so check your Blender build and platform before installing.
Anypaste is currently available for Windows x64 only, so it won't run on macOS or Linux at this time. On a supported Windows setup you copy an image to the clipboard from a web browser, Photoshop, another graphics program, or from within Blender, then press Ctrl+V to replace the current brush texture. For any updates on platform support, check the developer's page.
Anypaste works in both Texture Paint and Sculpt modes, and it handles brush textures in 3D as well as 2D. To use it in Sculpt mode, copy an image to the clipboard from a web browser, Photoshop, another graphics program, or from within Blender itself, then press Ctrl+V in Blender to replace the current brush texture. Transparent images are supported as well. Keep in mind the add-on is currently available for Windows x64 only.
Anypaste replaces the brush texture with your pasted image, but the outcome depends on the brush color. If the pasted texture appears completely black or shows an unexpected tint, make sure the brush color is set to pure white. Otherwise, the texture will have a different tint or appear completely black. This applies whether you paste in Texture Paint or Sculpt mode, and transparent images are supported as well.
Anypaste is listed as free in this catalog. Licensing and pricing can change, so check the developer's page for the current terms before you download. The add-on is released under the GPL license by BlendPix and installs as a Blender add-on. Once you switch to Texture Paint mode and set up a texture, it adds a Ctrl+V shortcut that pastes a clipboard image into the current brush texture. It is currently available for Windows x64 only.
