Earns its place in the Superhive library by turning output naming, folder creation, versioning, and saving into a single popup step for Blender renders.
Auto Create Output + Render Folder is an add-on for Blender that handles output naming and rendering workflow automatically. It generates output file paths from tokens including {blendfile}, {scene}, {date}, {resolution}, and {version}, and can auto-create subfolders in Date/Scene, Scene/Date, Scene Only, or custom arrangements. Still images are saved automatically, removing the manual "Save As" step, and animations render across the full frame range using Blender's internal animation render.
The add-on works through a popup interface in the 3D Viewport sidebar under the "Pipeline Tools" tab. From there you choose the output format (PNG, JPEG, or EXR), the render type (Still Image or Animation), and the subfolder style, with a live output preview showing the full path before rendering. When a file with a matching name already exists, versioning increments automatically to v02, v03, and so on.
Installation follows the standard Blender add-on route: download the .zip, install it via Edit → Preferences → Add-ons, and enable the checkbox. It is compatible with Blender 3.0 and later on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Auto Create Output + Render Folder is best for blender artists and studios who want automatic output naming, subfolder organization, and render saving as part of a pipeline folder structure.
Auto Create Output + Render Folder is completely free to download and use.
Auto Create Output + Render Folder is listed as compatible with Blender 3.0 and later. It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, so the add-on covers the three major desktop platforms. Because output paths are generated from your saved project, you need to save the .blend file first before the add-on can build its paths. Once installed and enabled, you access it from the 3D Viewport sidebar under the "Pipeline Tools" tab.
Auto Create Output + Render Folder installs like a standard Blender add-on. Download the .zip file, then open Blender and go to Edit → Preferences → Add-ons. Click Install and select the downloaded .zip, then enable the checkbox for the add-on. After that, you'll find it in the Sidebar (N-panel) under the "Pipeline Tools" tab. Press N in the 3D Viewport to reveal the sidebar and click the "Auto Output + Render" button to open its popup options.
Auto Create Output + Render Folder supports PNG, JPEG, and EXR output formats, selectable from its popup interface. It handles two render types: Still Image, which renders the current frame and auto-saves the image to disk, and Animation, which renders the full frame range using Blender's internal animation render. Files save automatically per Blender's standard behavior, so there is no need to manually save from the Render Result window after a still render completes.
Auto Create Output + Render Folder is listed as free in this catalog. Licensing terms cover individual or studio commercial use, and you may include it in your own pipeline, though redistribution outside your team is not permitted. For current licensing details and any updates, check the developer's page. Support and feature requests are handled through Blender Market messages, so you can reach the developer directly if questions come up during use.
