Auto Importer & Organizer earns its place for handling the tedious side of asset work — batch importing folders and arranging models into consistent grids without touching their geometry or origins.
Auto Importer & Organizer is a Blender addon for importing, organizing, and arranging large numbers of assets into structured grid layouts. You select a folder and click Import Assets; the addon scans the directory, imports every supported file, and places the results into a clean grid based on your settings. It handles OBJ, FBX, GLTF/GLB, and STL, with optional recursive scanning of subfolders and material unification to prevent duplicated materials during batch imports.
Beyond importing, it also works on objects already in the scene. Grid Auto reorganizes selected objects using the same grid logic without re-importing, while Grid by Material groups objects by their assigned materials, creates one collection per group, and lays each group out in its own grid separated by a configurable distance. Grid orientation, column count, spacing, and placement mode — by object origin or mesh bottom at Z=0 — all carry through these operations.
Two optional tools help standardize a set: Normalize Height scales objects to a shared target height, and Apply Transforms commits current scale values. The addon does not generate assets, modify mesh geometry, or change object origins automatically — its layout operations only move objects in the scene. It requires Blender 4.0 or newer.
Auto Importer & Organizer is best for game developers, asset pack creators, and artists managing large libraries who need to import, inspect, and lay out many models quickly.
Auto Importer & Organizer is completely free to download and use.
Auto Importer & Organizer requires Blender 4.0 or newer, so it runs on that version and later releases. Once installed, you select a folder and click Import Assets; the addon scans the directory, imports all supported files, and places them into a grid layout based on your settings. It also works on objects already in the scene through the Grid Auto tool, which reorganizes selected objects without re-importing anything. For confirmation on the newest Blender builds, check the developer's page.
Auto Importer & Organizer supports OBJ, FBX, GLTF/GLB, and STL files. You can batch import an entire folder at once, with optional recursive scanning that reaches into subfolders. After import, it arranges everything into an automatic grid layout, and material unification helps prevent duplicated materials across a batch. If you want assets grouped by material, the Grid by Material system sorts objects into separate grids and creates one collection per material group, labelled MATERIAL-A, MATERIAL-B, and so on.
Auto Importer & Organizer does not modify mesh geometry or object origins automatically. Its grid and placement operations only move objects within the scene, so your source meshes stay intact, and material grouping organizes layout and collections rather than merging meshes. Two optional tools do change objects when you choose to run them: Normalize Height scales selected objects to a shared target height, and Apply Transforms commits current scale values. The developer recommends using Normalize Height carefully with mixed asset types.
Auto Importer & Organizer is listed as free in this catalog. It is an organization and layout tool rather than an asset generator, built to automate importing, grid layout, and scene organization for models you already have. Placement modes let you position objects by origin or by mesh bottom at Z=0, and you can adjust grid orientation, column count, and spacing to suit a scene. UVPackmaster 4 is a UV packing engine for Blender that packs UV maps on the CPU and GPU, using the Cuda and Vulkan APIs, and can run on the CPU and all system GPUs at once.

by MMD
MMD Tools is a Blender add-on for editing MikuMikuDance (MMD) models. It handles importing and exporting model, motion and pose data, along with chopping and joining parts, plus rigid body, material and motion editing.
